Notes on coverage
- Border postcodes — A small number of postcodes near nation borders may appear in multiple nations' data or map to a different nation than expected.
- Housing data — Land Registry covers England and Wales (postcode-level transaction prices; coverage depends on sales activity in each area). Scotland housing data is not yet available.
- Business data — UK Business Counts (via NOMIS) covers England, Wales, and Scotland (at Intermediate Zone level).
- Crime data — Police Scotland does not publish to data.police.uk, so crime data covers England and Wales only.
- Deprivation indices — Each nation publishes its own deprivation index (IoD25/IMD, WIMD, SIMD) at different geography levels and time periods. English IoD25 (IMD 2025) uses 2021 LSOA codes (100% coverage).
- Geography levels — England and Wales use LSOAs/MSOAs, Scotland uses Data Zones. All are mapped to postcodes via the ONS Postcode Directory.
- Northern Ireland — Northern Ireland is not currently covered. Please get in touch if this is required.
